Throne of Heaven

by Nathan Crowder

The Mad World Cycle: Throne of Heaven, Nathan Crowder.

There is madness spreading on the streets of Cobalt City.

Thankfully, the city has superheroes to protect it.

An international consortium of tech firms is about to unveil a huge leap forward in space technology with an orbital platform and space elevator anchored just off the coast of Cobalt City. But the project isn’t without its detractors, such as the technologically advanced nation of D’habu, which sees the project as a global threat, and the pernicious Sky Pirates’ frequent raids of construction deliveries.

Enter Kara Sparx and Madjack. The thrill-seeking inventor and rebellious musician/daughter of a failed alien conqueror would be the last people to call themselves heroes. But since Stardust’s ex-wife is part of the Skyhook project and good friends with Kara, there’s no one better to navigate the deadly line between pirates and politics.

But when push comes to shove, D’habu has one more ace in its sleeve: Edirin Okoloko, a.k.a. Knockabout, one of the most powerful members of legendary Cobalt City team The Protectorate. If Knockabout enters the fray, it could create an international incident that will shake the Throne of Heaven.

Throne of Heaven is stand-alone novella of high-flying action and political intrigue from Cobalt City creator Nathan Crowder that can also be read as a piece of the puzzle in the four-part epic Mad World Cycle.
